Most of the convection associated with the tropical wave in the EC is north of the center of circulation. It seems to me that Jamaica will get some rain from this wave. The models have the wave in the Atlantic reaching 997 mb once it reach the windward island. That is a category 1 Hurricane. Let's seem what happens next week.

Dani its been quiet this year so far because of the same reason as last year... Sahara sand. They're saying the average pressure though is up down there compared to last year so maybe it'll be a bit quieter through the heart of the season (8.15-10.1). btw I don't put much trust in these predictions. Like last year. Yeah the season completely crashed after 10.1. Generally speaking though quiet starts generally results in quieter seasons thus let us hope this is one of those.
